Captivated by hands, feet, and the vibrancy in flesh, I paint people and things that fascinate me through the medium of oil paint. My work is rooted in realism, yet increasingly, I am drawn to the abstract and the surreal.
I am incorporating more expressive brushwork and have opened myself up to a more intuitive painting style, reflecting my journey in discovering the inner self. An example of this is a painting series I created inspired by my dreams and my interpretations of them.
Though I was born in Birmingham, I now work from my studio in Brixton.
My passion began in the school classroom, where I was introduced to the large portraits by Chuck Close and sought immediately to recreate one. My influences now include more contemporary figurative painters such as Inès longevial, Peter Doig and Lisa brice.
Since January 2023 I have had my first solo show (Prisma Lisbon, 2024), completed a mural commission for the Standard Hotel (2023), and been Featured in t’ART Magazine (6th Edition) for my painting ‘The Chase’. Furthermore, I have been highlighted by Artsted as one of the 99 Future Blue Chip Artists (2024).
